The site opened in November of 1998 as a
general information source for Fushigi Yuugi, which at the time
was fairly new, airing in 1995 and being fansubbed on VHS soon
after. As the show was unlicensed in North America, the website
strove to provide as much information on story, characters, and
merchandise as possible, so that audiences would come to
understand the story and its popularity could potentially bring it
overseas. The Fushigi Yuugi anime and manga were eventually
licensed in North America, exposing it to even more fans.
While Fushigi Yuugi is now well over ten
years old, it remains a popular series among anime and manga fans,
who now have far more exposure to anime and manga than when the
site was first created. However, Fushigi Yuugi - The Fire of
Suzaku's Wings continues to grow and develop, always providing
up-to-date information on a wonderful series.
