Welcome to my shrine for that fine hunk of man, the wonderful guy known as Tasuki. I had to dedicate at least one page to my very favorite character. Stay to worship the wonder of one of the awesomest men in anime! Why do I think Tasuki rocks? Those of you who watch Fushigi Yuugi should get a pretty good idea. This guy has a kick-butt, no-nonsense attitude. He does everything with a sort of passion and flair that makes him interesting. He's impulsive, acts with no hesitation, and has a hell of a lot of courage. He's both bad and has an innocent side to him. He's sweet, thoughtful, naughty, and reckless all at the same time. He breaks the rules. In short, he's the perfect man.

Tasuki has a lot of emotion in him - a sensitive guy who tries to hide it under a macho exterior. He tries to act like a someone who can always be counted on, always depended on, and that nothing gets him down. He always tries to do everything he can to keep on going. He never gives up, and never hesitates to stand up for what he believes in. Tasuki goes out of his way to protect any of his friends. He is incredibly loyal to anyone he cares about. Yet, he tries to appear a "cool guy" on the surface: calm, collected. Like any typical redhead, he has a temper, too, with the strength to back it up. In other words, don't piss this guy off. You'll be sorry. Get on his bad side, and you're on his shit list forever. Get on his good side, and he'll protect you with his life and respect you. Tasuki is a great pal to have. He'd never betray a friend. He's like an overprotective big brother who can always be relied upon.

Despite being (or at least trying to be) macho, Tasuki does have moments where his childish side gets a hold of him, and he simply acts like a spoiled brat. How can you tell he's the youngest in the family? Tasuki claims to hate women, but we all know that he'd probably crawl across fire for them. He uses it as an excuse to hide his true feelings.

Of course, Tasuki is a big tease, and he definitely loves to have fun. Oftentimes he teases others to build up his own ego. He's constantly ready to party at a moment's notice, and at those parties, he's the LIFE. He has one of the sharpest wits ever seen - this guy never has been gotten the better of. NEVER. He has a comeback for everything. Naturally, being impulsive, he says things without thinking first. Without a sense of humor, he could easily get on your nerves, but he's SO cute and funny when he does it! Keep in mind that Tasuki's one of the sweetest guys in existence. When he loses his temper, he says things he sometimes doesn't mean, and he always apologizes afterwards. With his optimism, however, Tasuki never stays down for long. Moments after being contrite and cute, he's back being bad again!

This doesn't mean that Tasuki is always cheerful. He does have a very serious side to him that reflects his sensitive nature. He can be hurt just like any other person, only he tries to cover it up with his strength so that he doesn't show it. When something overwhelms him, his tough shell cracks and he is unafraid to show that he's been hurt. Tasuki allows his emotional side to be open to the people he cares about and trusts. He can be deep and thoughtful, especially when faced with something new and hard to accept, possibly a great change in his life. He does understand sorrow and works at cheering up others when they're down. He does his best to deal with difficult situations and obstacles life flings at him, all the while maintaining a smile. He is an inspiration to keep going and never give up.

When Tasuki gets ticked - he gets TICKED. The wisest possible option would be to stay out of his way. Tasuki tries to remain pretty calm under usual circumstances, but he also has a powerful sense of justice. When something offends this sense, he isn't scared to fly off the handle and defend what he believes in, and he has the strength to back it up. Not only is Tasuki good at brawling, he has a ton of guts and courage on his side, as well as a fiery temper. Tasuki is extremely noble, loves a challenge, and doesn't mind being a "knight in shining armor" in disguise. Of course, at the same time, Tasuki is just fine with . . . er . . . telling it like it is. He doesn't mind cussing a little (okay, maybe a lot . . . okay, so he has the foulest language on the planet). ^_^;

Tasuki does not cry very often, trying to maintain a stoic outside appearance. When Tasuki does cry, it's with a lot of intensity and emotion. He never cries over trivial things - when something does upset him to this extent, it's something pretty bad. Whenever Tasuki cries, it is very unexpected - something out of the ordinary for such a hyperactive character. Tasuki has a big heart, but he's not the kind of guy who displays it openly. It's something he only shares with his closest friends, and even then only when something completely overwhelms him.

Being such a fun character, Tasuki is apt to be stretched and distorted in action. He freaks out a lot! He has probably the widest range of facial expressions I have ever seen, and in a way, his character is built to emphasize it. The flaming hair, the fierce fangs, and the wide pointed eyes can all be twisted, warped, and otherwise completely stretched out of shape to help display the wide range of emotional features that Tasuki has.

One of Tasuki's greatest naivetes is in the aspect of love. Because he stoutly maintains that he has hated women his entire life, he has never really given romance a thought. Tasuki was fifteen when he lost his virginity at a brothel, as a sort of "ritual" in becoming a man, for the simple reason that he wanted to join the bandits. The only reason he did so was to assert his own independence in life. However, he doesn't know how to express love verbally, and his inexperience leads him to making mistakes. The second OAV explores the romantic side of him, as he begins to feel deep affection for Miaka and fumbles in expressing it. In the scene where he gives himself over to desire, he tries giving his body to her as a sort of way to tell her he loves her. However, this only frightens Miaka, and Tasuki experiences deep confusion. He assumes that it is the only way to express love, as it's the only way he's experienced it. Fortunately, he is surrounded by forgiving friends who understand him, and Tasuki can accept his mistake and face Miaka again.

Tasuki has great fashion sense! His wardrobe is super cool - whether it be a leather jacket or a tuxedo, this guy looks good in EVERYTHING! (Of course, he'd look better with nothing on!)

Let me just say it bluntly. Tasuki is one sexy guy! He has this magnetism and charisma to him - making him HOT stuff!
